Prairie Sun Recordings Releases “Out Of The Fire” Compilation Album

On Sunday, July 8, Prairie Sun Studios in Cotati is hosting a benefit party celebrating the release of a new compilation album, “Out Of The Fire,” featuring 11 songs performed by local musicians that aims to raise money for people who lost their instruments or audio gear in the devastating October 2017 Sonoma County wildfires.

The new CD features mostly original songs, with a few carefully selected covers, by artists like Sarah Baker, Volker Strifler, Levi Lloyd, Danny Sorentino, Johnny Campbell, Doug Jayne, Willy Jordan, Eki Shola and Steve Kimock.

Produced by Baker, Mark “Mooka” Rennick and Allan Sudduth, and recorded and mixed at the renowned Prairie Sun Recording Studios, the richly compelling collection will be available at the release party, with many of the participating musicians on hand. North Bay Cabaret Says “Happy Birthday, Jesus”

North Bay Cabaret’s monthly variety show always keeps it seasonal, and this month’s Christmas-themed show is the most wonderful time you’ll have this week. Giving props to the big man up top, North Bay Cabaret says “Happy Birthday Jesus” on Friday, Dec 16, at Annie O’s Music Hall in Santa Rosa with its signature offering of burlesque, spoken word, circus acts and music that is sure to make you merry.

Headlining the show is Jamie DeWolf, host of underground troupe Tourettes Without Regrets and producer of NPR’s Snap Judgement. Other performers will include burlesque clown Snatch Adams putting on a holiday-styled unicycle routine, Santa Cruz dance group Gold Town Burlesque debuting their latest act and Cassandra Holloway, who employs live snakes in her belly dancing.

Along with the entertainment, a raffle benefitting Standing Rock water protectors will let you grab a variety of cool gifts and goodies. And a late night dance party keeps the yuletide vibes flowing until 2am.

Petaluma’s Rivertown Revival Returns This Weekend

The 6th year of the Rivertown Revival, the local, arts-based, community festival that highlights the Petaluma River and all of the amazing artists who call our county home, takes place on Saturday, July 18.

This year’s party includes an art boat race and parade, floating art barges and an all-day festival which highlights local music, art, food and drink and over 40 fabulous local vendors. The Rivertown Revival is sure to be 2015’s most unique and creative summer festival. The music lineup is, of course, packed; with several stages and tents offering up something for everyone, even the kids.

The lineup features Marshall House Project, Corner Store Kids, David Luning, the Crux, Royal Jelly Jive, Circus Maximus, the Dixie Giants, Sally Haggard, and so many more. For full details check iout the Rivertown Revival web page here.
